Course Information
The NEBOSH National General Certificate (NGC) in Occupational Health and Safety is an internationally recognised and essential British qualification for anyone pursuing a successful career in health and safety.
The NEBOSH NGC course offers a simple but comprehensive introduction to occupational health and safety and is recommended for all health and safety professionals working in all types of organisations and industries.
The course is made up of the following three units:
• Management of Health and Safety (NGC1)
• Controlling Workplace Hazards (GC2)
• Health and Safety Practical Application (GC3)
The course covers the main legal requirements for health and safety at a national level. It also deals with the identification and control of workplace hazards and the practical way to manage them.
Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites to attend this course. However, it is advantageous that candidates wishing to obtain the NEBOSH national General Certificate have a general understanding of Managing Safely prior to attending the course, but it is not essential.
Length of Course
The IGC1 and GC2 modules of the course can be completed in the classroom in 10 days, split into two separate 5-day sessions .  A blend of both classroom and private study can be used to suit your individual needs. Following this, the GC3 project will be completed by the candidate, usually at their own workplace and submitted within 10 days after the examination.
